Say you want to inspire your audience – or make them feel happy or calm. Using the right color combinations can reinforce your intentions. Brands need to think about color combinations across many areas like logos, websites, marketing materials, merchandise, and social media. It’s not enough to work with just one color, the real magic lies in knowing what 2 or 3 colors go together and being able to pick compelling color combinations. Ensure brand consistency by documenting which colors and combinations people should use. Document commonly used colors and hex codes in an internal wiki.
Traditionally gray has a reputation of being flat or dreary, and there are times when that still applies (clouds, I’m looking at you!). But grays status has been elevated of late, and now it is synonymous with sophistication.
